Netflix’s Black Diamond Gears Up to Shoot in Queenstown, New Zealand Through October

Source: What's on Netflix

A brand-new Netflix series called Black Diamond is setting up production in Queenstown, New Zealand, with cameras scheduled to start rolling this month and keep shooting through October 2026.

The show is written and produced by Chloe Stearns and directed by Glendyn Ivin, whose previous credits include Penguin Bloom and the Scottish drama The Cry. The production is taking advantage of New Zealand’s landscape and local crew base, with Queenstown serving as the primary filming location.

Black Diamond is one of several new Netflix productions firing up engines this summer alongside returning series like Bridgerton Season 5 in London, Wednesday Season 3 in Ireland, and Scooby-Doo: Origins in Atlanta — part of a broader slate the streamer is keeping in active production through year-end.

No logline or cast has been announced publicly. A 2027 release on Netflix is the likely window given the October wrap and subsequent post-production timeline.
