More than a decade after the last installment, Grown Ups 3 is officially moving forward, with production now underway for Netflix.
Adam Sandler returns alongside longtime collaborators Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, and Rob Schneider, reuniting the core group that made the first film a major box office success in 2010. Returning cast members also include Salma Hayek Pinault, Maya Rudolph, Maria Bello, and several familiar faces from the franchise.
Netflix confirmed the project with an official cast announcement and a behind-the-scenes reunion photo as filming kicked off in New Jersey. Director Kyle Newacheck is helming the sequel from a screenplay by Adam Sandler and Tim Herlihy.
The new film also expands the ensemble with additions including Julie Bowen, Deon Cole, and Bailee Madison, while several Happy Madison regulars are expected to make appearances.
The original Grown Ups earned more than $270 million worldwide and spawned a successful sequel in 2013. After years of speculation, fans will finally get to see the longtime friends return for another chapter centered on family, friendship, and the franchise’s signature ensemble comedy.
Netflix has not yet announced an official release date, but filming is now in progress.
