Summary
A leading Japanese trading company specializing in plastics resin, plastics film, and aluminum foil for packaging applications is seeking a Sales & Marketing Manager. The role is responsible for import sales and marketing, account management, and new business development. This position requires strong communication skills, deep market insight, and the ability to create and drive new business opportunities while supporting the company’s growth in the Americas.
Essential Duties
* Manage and expand relationships with existing customers to maintain and grow business.
* Conduct market research and identify new potential customers.
* Develop and nurture business relationships using the company’s global network.
* Handle sales forecasting, planning, and reporting to management.
* Make professional sales presentations to customers and vendors.
* Collaborate with internal teams (Customer Service, Sales Assistant, Accounting) to ensure smooth business operations and invoicing.
* Establish product development strategies in line with changing market trends, such as recycling and sustainability.
* Monitor global supply/demand, pricing, and competitive landscape.
Working Hours / Working Style
* Standard hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
* Occasional evening availability required for meetings with overseas teams.
* Full-time, exempt position.
Working Location
*Schaumburg, IL*
* Main customer base in the Midwest; some accounts may be located on the East Coast, West Coast, and Canada.
* Occasional business trips; overseas supplier visits in Asia (Japan, China, Thailand, etc.) approximately once every 1–2 years.
Salary / Benefit
* Base Salary: *$75,000 – $90,000*
* Annual bonus (average: approx. 1 month salary, performance-based).
* Relocation support available depending on candidate.

Qualifications
* *Fluent English communication skills (oral and written) required.*
* Bachelor’s degree required.
* Corporate work experience in the U.S. required.
* Minimum knowledge of trade operations and incoterms.
* Sales or marketing experience in plastics resin/film/packaging industry strongly preferred.
* Technical knowledge in plastics, polymers, or chemical fields is a plus.
* Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with ability to manage multiple requests and deadlines.
