About The Role & TeamThe Media Coordinator supports the Media Producer and/or Assistant Media Producer with the design and production of digital visualization and digital media elements throughout a project’s life-cycle up through and including Final Installation and Delivery. This role provides visual effects production and digital workflow understanding, forward-thinking logistics planning, and detail-oriented, organizational support.This role is an integral member of the digital production team and is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and facilitation of multiple necessary and significant tasks inclusive of creating shot breakdown sheets, organizing and tracking visual effects live- action plates, CG assets, and shot data in Shotgun, communicating with vendors and other digital disciplines on delivery information, managing artist assignments, note-taking, and vendor i/o validation. This role is also responsible for scheduling the work sessions and creative reviews needed for media approvals, and for coordinating the digital deliverables required for these sessions in service of the overall show milestones.This position requires solid communication abilities, interpersonal skills, and producorial instincts working with artists, vendors, technical programmers, engineers, creative directors, and senior management. This position requires the ability to be flexible and proactive, take direction well, and present a positive image for the team - seeking mentorship, guidance and insight as needed.This is a Project Hire position with no guarantee of permanent placement.You Will:Updates and maintains the Visual Effects Design Studio Shotgun project - inclusive of artist assignments, task status, artist notes, scene and setup details, and media ingest records to ensure the data, schedule dates, and pertinent information are accurateCreates shots breakdown sheets of the creative content for the Media Producer for biddingCoordinates invitees for digital meetings, work sessions, and reviews to ensure critical parties can attend, and raises issues with solutions to the Media Producer as neededDownloads Dailies, creates playlists in Shotgun, and works with the vendor on assets and multi-week deliveriesDemonstrates in-depth understanding of visual effects pipeline inclusive of live action plate processing, CG, and compositing pipelines when taking notes and dialoguing about processes clearly and concisely with producers and digital artistsEnsures the digital artists have access to the assets and files they need from the different show disciplines and from outside vendorsSchedules artist rounds for the VFX Supervisor and documents action items in ShotgunPrepares digital delivery packages for reviews and turnovers with direction from the VFX Supervisor – inclusive of assembling assets for presentations, compressing digital files for web sharing, and watermarking media as neededCoordinates Visual Effects Design Studio needs for mockups and field testing – inclusive of scheduling, documenting action items, and driving follow-up communicationStrategizes with Media Producer on preparation for Installation, inclusive of building and tracking the trip schedule with start/end dates, purchasing expendables to support the team, supporting technical playback of the media, and troubleshooting issues as they ariseFacilitates on-lining and off-lining of digital deliveries including quality-controlling the deliveries and prioritizing early versions that can be backed up and archived as new ones arriveCommunicates clearly and respectfully with the artistic and technical teams, and with senior production and project leadershipDemonstrates excellent meeting-facilitation, presentation, and collaboration skills to ensure production team members are aligned on project objectivesCommunicates respectfully with vendors regarding deliveries to alleviate issues with Aspera transfer challenges, corrupt frames, naming conventions, and other I/O related needsYou Will Have:1-3 Years of VFX production experience in a VFX facility preferably with live action set experience. Theme park attraction digital media production experience a plusExperience coordinating in a creative and digital pipeline inclusive of scheduling, digital asset management, CG pipeline experience and toolset understandingUnderstanding of live action and digital media technologies, processes, toolsets, vocabulary, and production pipelinesSolid written and verbal communication, presentation, and articulation skills. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
